Don\u2019t forget your additional overheads when setting your budget for renting commercial property. \u00a0One thing you may need to pay is\u00a0business rates<\/b><\/a>\u00a0which are charged on most commercial properties such as shops, offices, warehouses and factories.<\/p>

Leeds City Council will send you a business rates bill for the following tax year around February.<\/p>

If the commercial property you rent has a rateable value below \u00a351,000, you will pay the small\u00a0business rate<\/b><\/a>, which is lower than the standard rate.<\/p>

Additionally, if you only rent one property and the rateable value is less than \u00a315,000, you can apply to Leeds City Council to get small business rate relief. \u00a0<\/p>
